Studies have shown that combination chemotherapy can reduce the annual risk of death by 25 percent to 35 percent and cancer recurrence by 25 percent. Chemotherapy combinations often go by acronyms named after the first initial of each drug. Multiple regimens of combination systemic chemotherapy are available.
